Chappell Roan’s Benefit Went Beyond the Surprise Guest
PinkPantheress, Lola Young and Caroline Polachek supplied the collaborations. A community block party gave the spectacle somewhere to go.

Chappell Roan closed her two-night Super Graphic Spectacular in Los Angeles on October 22 with PinkPantheress and Lola Young joining her headline set, according to Rolling Stone. But the benefit for trans youth and LGBTQ+ communities had more to offer than famous people emerging from the wings: its accompanying block party put community organisations alongside the merchandise and photo opportunities.
First, the considerable musical enticement. PinkPantheress performed “Tonight,” and Young joined Roan for “Picture You” from The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. Roan also joined Caroline Polachek’s set for “Look at Me Now” from Pang, with Pitchfork reporting all three closing-night collaborations. Following an opening-night “Coffee” duet with Christina Aguilera, this was hardly a finale short of company. Crucially, Roan wasn’t just inviting guests into her catalogue; she was stepping into theirs.
The occasion was the Midwest Princess Project’s first anniversary. All net proceeds were set to support its continued work with trans youth and LGBTQ+ communities, Rolling Stone reported—a commitment, not a confirmed fundraising total for the concerts.
Outside the theatre, that purpose had a practical presence. The block party included information booths for the Trans Mentor Project, Drag Story Hour and the LA LGBT Center / Trans Wellness Center, Queerty reported from the event. Attendees could learn about organisations serving the communities the benefit supported. The guest list offered plenty to recognise; the booths offered something to get to know.
